The Sea To Sky Gondola is seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to oversee the day-to-day operations of their kitchen team. If you are a passionate chef that enjoys coaching, mentoring and training staff this is an excellent opportunity for you!

This role offers the ability to work at one of Squamish’s most scenic and exciting venues, with a progressive and fun organization.

NOTE:  Staff Accommodation may be available.  They have private dorm style rooms, with a shared bathroom and communal kitchen,  along with a free shuttle to work.

The Perfect Candidate: 

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Kitchen Supervisor, or in a similar leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead and train a kitchen team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of food preparation techniques, food safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to maintain food quality and consistency under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  • Food Safe Level 1 (or equivalent) certification required.
  • Serving it Right Certificate.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular and continuing basis.
  • A passion for American BBQ, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine & baking is a strong asset.
  • Criminal Record Check required.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Oversee and manage daily food production to ensure high standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Lead, train, and motivate kitchen team members to excel in their roles.
  • Ensure proper food preparation, portioning, and consistency according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Sea to Sky Gondola Occupational Health and Safety Program and the Regulation of WorkSafeBC.
  • Promote our culture of sustainability through adherence to our recycling and waste management procedures.
  • Assist in managing inventory levels and place orders for key kitchen supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with the culinary leadership team to execute menus and seasonal offerings.
  • Foster a positive and respectful work environment while promoting teamwork and accountability.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Head Chef and other team members as required.
